    Buprenorphoine X-Waiver Training Course

    Training is provided complimentary to Wisconsin providers who are eligible to prescribe buprenorphine.*  This session is presented as a live four-hour activity, which, when paired with ASAM's four-hour on-demand course, will provide necessary education for participates to apply for and obtain their  Buprenorphine Waver through the American Society of Addiction Medicine.  

    * This event is being held in conjunction with the Opioid Forum and although the X-Waiver training is complimentary, separate registration is required for those also attending the Opioid Forum.


    ASAM is an approved provider by CSAT/SAMHSA of DATA 2000 training. This blended format combines 4 hours of live learning with 4 hours of self-paced online learning for a total of 8 hours. The live portion of the course will introduce learners to treating opioid use disorder with medications. The online portion is completed after the live portion and focuses on special populations and cases. Upon registration, learners will be issued access to the online portion of the blended course through the ASAM e-Learning Center.

    ACCREDITATION: The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

    DESIGNATION: The American Society of Addiction Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 4AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

    Doctor Day provides a unique opportunity for physicians to come together to advocate on behalf of patients and the medical profession. It features a wide range of hosts representing state medical and specialty societies, county societies, health care organizations and strategic partners. 

    500 physicians and medical students from 20 different physician organizations are expected to participate at Doctor Day 2019. The event will feature keynote speakers at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center prior to visits with legislators and staff at the State Capitol.

    This annual event continues to grow, proving the medical community's unified commitment to advocating for issues affecting physicians and their patients. The multi-specialty nature of Doctor Day has quickly become one of the largest state Advocacy Day events for physicians in the country.
